Help / FAQ
1. How does Tubidy work?
Tubidy functions as a video indexing platform that organizes and displays videos uploaded by users. When you search for a video, Tubidy provides a list of results from its moderated content collection. When you choose to watch a video, it streams the content directly from the hosting site to your device, using Tubidy's servers. These servers handle the heavy lifting by transcoding or reformatting the video stream in real-time, ensuring compatibility with your device and network. All you have to do is search, watch, and enjoy the service.
2. Can I store the downloads on my phone?
Absolutely NOT. This service is strictly for 'watching or listening only.' Please review our <Terms of Use> for more information.
3. Why audio quality is low?
We believe the audio quality is sufficient for a "viewing and listening" experience.
4. Is this a free service?
Absolutely. Tubidy offers its services at no cost to users for streaming videos. However, standard data rates from your internet provider may still apply.
5. How do I view videos in full-screen?
To view videos in full screen, open the video playback page and select the desired video link. In your phone's media player menu, make sure that the 'Full screen' mode is enabled.
6. I cannot watch videos from Tubidy on my device?
If you’re unable to watch videos from Tubidy on your device, check if your phone supports video playback and verify that your network provider isn’t restricting video streaming.
7. I receive an error message saying 'Error encountered during XML parse' on my Blackberry.
Make sure your browser’s emulation mode is configured to 'Firefox' in the browser settings. Alternatively, consider installing Opera Mini for an improved browsing experience.
8. What should I do if the media player freezes while playing a large video, or if my device crashes?
Your device storage might be at capacity. In your browser's menu, navigate to 'Settings' and choose 'Cache Management' to clear the cache. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to restart your device.
9. I cannot watch large videos?
Your network provider or connection might restrict the playback size. To make viewing easier, we offer the option to watch the video in 1-minute segments. On the video playback page, simply click on Parts 1, 2, 3,...
10. I’m using a Blackberry, and my videos only play for 10 seconds.
It appears you might be using the default browser on your device. Please switch to the media-net browser instead.
11. I can hear the sound, but there's no video display when I play the video on my Blackberry?
Make sure your browser's emulation mode is configured to 'Blackberry'. [Browser Menu -> Options -> Emulation mode -> Blackberry]
12. I am unable to view videos on my Blackberry 8700.
The 8700 series lacks built-in media players, which means you cannot watch videos directly. However, you might consider downloading a third-party media player to enable video playback.
13. What are the codec and encoding specifications for each video and audio format available on Tubidy?
3GP Video Regular Quality => 3GPP(H.263/AMRNB)
3GP Video High Quality => 3GPP(MP4/AAC)
3GP Video Parts => 3GPP(H.263/AMRNB)
3GP Video Preview => 3GPP(H.263/AMRNB)
MP4 Video => MP4(H.264/HEv2-AAC)
MP4 Audio => MP4(HEv2-AAC)
14. MP4 videos aren't functioning!
MP4 videos utilize H.264 Baseline Profile Level 3 for video encoding and HE-AAC v2 for audio. Ensure that your phone model is compatible with these codecs. If not, you can opt for the 3GP Hi video format, which is universally available for all content and supported by a wider range of mobile devices.
15. Not every video has both MP4 video and MP4 audio versions. Why is that?
Only the most popular videos are available in these formats because encoding MP4 video/audio (particularly with H.264/HEVC-AAC codecs) requires a significant amount of time.
